KYOTI - Restart the World

Music Video, 2019

A one-take music video for Art Pop Electronic Trio KYOTI  from London.

I was asked to create an engaging music video for Kyoti's incredibly catchy 'Restart the World' with very limited resources, using just two dancers and a stage. With a very minimal budget and limited time, we wanted to shoot a 'one-take' music video of two dancers on a stage. Having the camera move around the dancers while also taking the lighting into account was a real undertaking. I love the creative use of lighting to elevate an images, and what better way to play around with lighting than for a music video on a stage. And why not give yourself the added challenge of shooting everything in one (kinda) continuous shot?

We only had half a day of rehearsal to choreograph the dance and figure out the camera movements around it, taking into account the lighting as well. It proved to be a fun challenge.

The entire music video was shot in just one evening in a theatre stage in North London. We shot it in three segments and then stitched them seemlessly in the edit to make it look like one continuous shot. I'm super proud of what we made considering the constraints, and I'm glad to have worked with such a talented team on a music video for such a fun and catchy song. â€‹â€‹â€‹
